Which pixel pitch should I choose for a LED wall?
The trade rule of thumb: comfortable viewing distance in metres roughly matches pixel pitch in millimetres. A 2.6 mm pitch reads well from 2.6 m, a 6 mm pitch from 6 m. For a corporate stage with front rows three or four metres out, stay under 3 mm. For an outdoor screen viewed from a distance, a coarser pitch costs less with no visible loss.
Is a LED wall hung or ground supported?
Both, and the choice is made before the rental. Hung, it needs certified rigging points, a rigging plan and a load calculation: panel, header bar and cable weights add up and spread across the venue structure. Ground supported, it needs a base and bracing, and the floor load rating has to be checked. A venue that cannot document its rigging points forces a ground support.
What happens if modules fail during the event?
A LED wall is modular: a faulty panel swaps out on site in minutes without taking down the rest. That is why any serious quote includes spare panels proportional to the surface. Outside an event, modules, receiving cards and power supplies are repaired in the shop rather than discarded.
